Minuteman Course Certification was built to give race directors a practical, dependable option for course measurement and certification in the Northeast.
We work with local events of all kinds, from charity and school races to established road races, with an emphasis on careful work, fair pricing, and service that is easy to work with.
We know that for many organizers, this is just one part of a much bigger event to manage. Our job is to handle the technical side well, provide materials that are actually useful, and help your race present itself with accuracy and credibility.

Why certify
Benefits of USATF Certification
Give runners a measured distance they can trust, with the documentation to support it.
Fewer Distance Complaints
Certification confirms the course is officially accurate, helping reduce confusion and complaints about GPS discrepancies or course length. It gives runners more confidence that the advertised distance is the real distance.
Long-Term Value
USATF certifications expire ten years after the year of issue. An unchanged course can serve future editions; route changes may require additional measurement and certification work.
Meaningful Results
Accurate, certified courses help runners compare performances. Qualification and record eligibility also depend on the rules of the relevant event or governing body; certification alone does not guarantee eligibility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our certificate is expiring. Can you help?
Yes. Send the certificate number or your race website, if you have it. Expired courses must be remeasured for recertification. We will review the route and timing with you before quoting.
Do we need a finished route before asking?
No. Share your distance, town, and what you have planned. We also offer course design. If your route is already certified, tell us about any changes so we can assess what work is needed.
How far do you travel?
We are based in Lexington, Massachusetts and consider projects across New England and New York. Availability and travel pricing depend on the location, course length, access, and time needed on site. Send the town and distance for a specific answer.
Is certification the same as a USATF sanction?
No. Course certification concerns measured distance. An event sanction is separate. We will explain the scope of our course measurement service so you know what you are arranging.
What kinds of races do you work with?
We work with charity 5Ks, community fun runs, school races, and competitive road races across the Northeast.
What is included in your services?
Depending on your event, services can include consultation, course design, official measurement, professional mapping, and certification materials.
How long does the process take?
Many courses can be measured in a day. The full schedule also includes mapping, submission, and review by the USATF certifier. Send your race date early so we can assess the timeline; a measurement appointment is not a promise of same-day certification.
